Happy Birthday to ace guitarist and songwriter Mark Knopfler, born on this date in 1949. As a special treat to our readers in celebration, here's a couple of songs that Knopfler played with idol Chet Atkins (the distinct finger picking styles are especially noteworthy on the acoustic guitars, but Knopfler famously applied the technique to the electric guitar during his stint with Dire Straits). The duo perform the old standard "I'll See You In My Dreams" and John Lennon's "Imagine" at the Secret Policeman's Third Ball in London in 1987.
